Occupier News: CGI Team Litter Pick
Find out what our occupiers have been up to!
26 members from CGI, based in Brook Drive, recently gave the area around the stadium a clean to complement the hard work of the grounds teams around Green Park. A total of fifteen bags were cleared with lots of cans and takeaway packaging amongst the count as well as the new environmental menace of face masks. Foot traffic from recent activities combined with local storms meant there was plenty of material to remove from bushes and brambles.
This event was originally planned for back in March 2020 following flooding in the Reading area. However, this coincided with the very first Covid lockdown announcement, and the team ended up having to cancel the event as people were told to work from home. As restrictions eased, the team selected the same week as back in 2020 to return the event with the original members and a number of warmly welcomed additions following the return to a newly refurbished office base next door to the old location.
CGI has recently adopted the Pawprint App across the UK with the aim of allowing members to measure their environmental impact and this activity fitted perfectly. CGI have more litter picking and environmental activities planned but the next planned event is the official opening of their Café planned to coincide with World Down’s Syndrome Day.
