Reptile Survey
This year we will be undertaking a range of ecological surveys in order to gain a better understanding of the wildlife that lives within Green Park, and how we can improve the way we manage the habitats for biodiversity.
Squares of roofing felt have been put down in various locations across the Park to facilitate our reptile survey. Reptiles such as grass snake and common lizard, which are cold blooded, crawl beneath, or sit on top of the roofing felt to warm up each day. This allows us to then check for reptiles and estimate the size of the population within the Park.
Our reptile survey will be continuing into mid-June 2019. We kindly ask that these squares of roofing felt are not disturbed or removed during this time.
If you have any questions about the surveys, or the Park’s wildlife, please contact our Landscaping Team.
We will be keeping you updated on the results of our surveys as they are completed over the course of 2019.
